Dr. Baden Weighs In On Heath Ledger’s Autopsy

Dr. Michael Baden, renowned forensic pathologist, gave his take of possible results from the autopsy of Heath Ledger on Fox News this morning. Of course, no one knows really what caused Heath’s death. The speculation surrounding it has to be hard on the family.

Dr. Baden says that authorities should be able to determine today if the star’s death was from a natural cause. He spoke specifically regarding the info that should be revealed from the autopsy today.

According to Dr. Baden, young people can die of pneumonia, aneurysms, suffocation, or congenital heart disease, and if any of these are the cause, that info should be released today to quell the speculation of drug overdose. The first step is always to rule out natural causes of death if there is any suspicion of drug overdose.

Assumptions have been made, and knowing what the initial autopsy should reveal is important, and something that will help the family to understand what’s happened. The family has made the statement that Heath was recovering from pneumonia, and would not have committed suicide.

UPDATE: As of 10:00 AM, the initial autopsy has been performed and results released are inconclusive, so there will be a 10 day wait to determine more toxicology information.

In Baden’s interview, he was asked that, and said its possible for someone to die of suffocation if they’ve taken the wrong combination of any type of those drugs. When you take Ambien, Xanax, and other combinations, it can be dangerous.

They haven’t said yet what’s in his system, but have leaked some of the names of the drugs found in his room.
