FBI Crime Drama for Teens?
If you happen to have a teen super-sleuth in your house, you might sometimes wonder how to answer the “Why can’t I watch?” question. Now there’s a guide you can use to determine whether your teen should watch some of those crime dramas on television:
Law and Order: Special Victims Unit (for 16 and older only & not for youths, as crimes are often perpetrated against children)
Numb3rs: (for 15 and older)
Smart crime drama, ok for teensCSI: Crime Scene Investigation: (for 15 and older)
Science prevails in this mature, top-rated crime showCSI NY: (for 15 and older)
Mature, captivating forensic whodunit24: (for 15 and older)
Tense thriller for adults and mature teensThe Closer: (for 14 and older)
Riveting crime drama with a strong female lead
These are simply recommendations, but I wonder how many would agree. I think it’s probably OK for teens to watch Numb3rs, because the use of math is very compelling. Some episodes of The Closer, however can be funny, and others very scary. Where do you guys weigh in on this?

Even though Numb3rs can be violent at times, I feel it’s totally appropriate for younger viewers not only because of the math but because it’s a family based show. Don and Charlie are who they are because of their strong family ties and that’s what I love about the show.
I’m new to the site, so maybe Bones doesn’t meet the other criteria, but I think it would be a good one for teens. The dialogue is fast, witty, and smart, the dead people aren’t as gruesome as you’d imagine, and David Boreanaz at least has some cred with the teeny bopper crowd.
Sorry, I didn’t realize this was a CBS website… my bad.
Thanks..No, this is not a CBS web site. It features all FBI crime dramas. There are a quite a few of them that will be featured here.
I actually agree that Bones is perfect for teens. I’ve never seen anything really untoward for teens on it.
