“The Shield” Back In Uniform This Summer
A fan of FX’s edgy crime drama, The Shield recently asked TV Guide’s Ausiello for the latest scoop on the show, and here is what he had to say:
The Shield has broken the mold of the dirty cop drama by blurring the lines 
of morality on every episode. Having Michael Chiklis portray the role of Vic Mackey was a stroke of genius. He was in the family-friendly police drama called The Commish, which was a very successful TV show. I still wonder if that role is what makes his role as Vic so intriguing. In The Shield, you can never fault Mackey for anything he does, even if it’s wrong.
The relationship between Mackey and Shane Vendrell in my opinion, is one of father and son, in spite of everything. The role of CCH Pounder as the strong female lead, Captain Claudette Wyms, has always kept the plot grounded. I’m looking forward to the final season, and especially the mid-season twist.
