Anthony LaPaglia Mixes It Up With Grassroots Soccer
Anthony LaPaglia of Without A Trace is not only an FBI drama star. He’s a soccer fan, and proponent of combating AIDS and fostering peace. He’ll be teaming with other TV stars and celebrities in the Reality All-Star Soccer Match this Saturday on March 8 in Texas.
Along with LaPaglia, the festival will feature Ethan Zohn (Survivor winner) and co-founder of Grassroot Soccer, various Survivor contestants, Amazing Race 12 winners, Big Brother 2 Winner, Dr. Will and Big Brother All-Stars winners. Other national and international team celebrities will be there, signing autographs and spending time with fans. Money from this event will support Grassroot Soccer and Footballers For Peace.
Seen here on the soccer field, LaPaglia is no stranger to it. Not only that, he and David Beckham played as opponents for a special soccer charity event back in November 2007, which raised over $90,000 for victims of the Southern California wildfires. Although Beckham scored twice in this match, LaPaglia cold stopped a 29 yard shot with his right hand. LaPaglia later said, “I never thought I would get the opportunity to face him in an actual game.”
