Top 7 Reasons You Must Watch Without A Trace

by Alexandra on March 5th, 2008

This series is one of TV’s FBI dramas at its best. Here are my Top 7 Reasons FBI Dramas Why You Must Watch Without A Trace:

7. Agent Malone’s Personal Drama -Although Agent Jack Malone is a great leader, he sometimes lets his personal feelings get in the way. He’s been known to throw the suspect a bone, so to speak. Case in point? He once asked one of his agents to wait until morning to report that a guilty party was seen crossing the Canadian border. I like the fact that sometimes the drama gets in the way of the case, because it’s just like real life. Besides, if it didn’t you’d probably be watching Law & Order.

6. If you have a life, you’ll be found - One of the great things about the show is that in each case, the missing person has some sort of life, and the more flamboyant it is, the faster these agents are able to make headway. Case in point? Read my thoughts on Dr. Will’s List.

5. The Quandry of Elena Delgado - She’s the newest addition to the team after coming over from the Vice Squad. Although she’s not one of the those “in your face” characters, she does a great job, especially when dealing with the Spanish-speaking witnesses. I’d like to see more of her background, and see her step up to the plate with a very challenging case. I think the writer’s have an untapped gold mine in Agent Delgado.

4. Agent Vivian Johnson - She’s the strong female lead, and she has a no-nonsense approach to her job. She’s also seems to be the antithesis of Jack at times, and she makes a point to never let her personal feelings interfere with her job. She also has a teenage son. Case in point? She easily butts heads with Detective Grant Mars (James Marsters), yet preserves their working relationship amiably.

3. The White Board - The white dry-erase board the agents use to solve the case is in my opinion, the heart of the show. A picture of the missing victim is placed with it, and the agents use it to illustrate the timelines, along with information and clues that help to solve the case. This also allows you, the viewer to see the progress.

2. Agents Danny Taylor & Martin Fitzgerald - Agent Taylor is very supportive of his co-workers and could be the most loyal to Jack Malone. He had a turbulent childhood growing up, and has even won a round with alcoholism. Agent Fitzgerald seemed like the average do-gooder in the first few seasons, but since then, he had a bit of a fling with Agent Samantha Spade, and he’s even struggled with a pain-killer addiction. Both of these guys are great to watch, but his character in this past season has seemed a bit too subdued.

1. Real-Life Missing Persons - After each episode of Without A Trace, the details of a real life missing person are featured. Although this show is based on a fictional Missing Person’s Bureau, this last point illustrates that there is a team of people who look for the missing, and that team is us.

i watch without a trace mainly because of anthony lapaglia who plays the character jack malone. I am a huge admirer of his and believe he is very underrated as an actor, the show will definetely miss him when he leaves in 2010, and though the other actors in the show are good, without a trace won’t be worth watching without him, i just hope that the writers get back to writing stories like in the first 3 seasons.

I can’t imagine the show without him. I have to agree with you. It’s like a totally different show from then. I’m really looking forward to it though! :D
