Beast Star Swayze Still In Running Despite Cancer

Patrick Swayze’s new FBI drama pilot, The Beast is still being considered by The A&E Network in spite of reports that Patrick has been battling pancreatic cancer. According to his physician, Dr. George Fisher, “Patrick has a very limited amount of the disease”. He also says that Swayze has been responding well to the treatments. He and his show, The Beast are still in the running!

According to his representative, Swayze wants to continue to be a part of the show. Swayze, who is 55, shot the pilot episodes last December. Although there have been reports of him having awful side-effects, and other rumors about his recovery, his rep, and his physician have released positive statements as to his progress. A&E has said they wish him a “speedy recovery”, and that the show is still in contention to become their new original drama series.

I suspect many fans are pulling for this Dirty Dancing star, but it sounds like he’s already got the upper-hand on this situation. My hope is that A&E will go ahead and pick up this series and see what happens. We know how extremely talented this man is, and he’s obviously already decided not to let a little thing like cancer stop him. Go Patrick!
