FBI Dramas: Swayze In "Beast" or Nielsen in "Fricke"?
A&E Network has announced they are launching a scripted series early in 2009, and Patrick Swayze’s Beast is one of the top contenders. When I read that, I had to do a double-take! One of the top contenders?
The other top contender is called Danny Fricke, starring Connie Nielsen (pictured right below). Danny Fricke follows a tough female detective who deals with sexists co-workers as she investigates high-profile cases.
I’m hoping for Beast because the premise of it appeals to me in a different way. In Beast, Swayze portrays Charles Barker, a veteran FBI agent who gets assigned a new partner who is actually a double agent sent to spy on Barker’s activities. This all sounds very mysterious because it means that Barker has a secret. (Pictured above left are Patrick and wife Lisa).
Beautiful Connie Nielsen is no newcomer to crime drama, as she portrayed Detective Dani Beck in Law & Order: Special Victim’s Unit. I also recall her vividly as Christabella, Keanu Reeves character’s bastard sister in The Devil’s Advocate.
So, which premise do you find more compelling between these two upcoming projects, and which would you rather watch?
