Criminal Minds "Elephant’s Memory" Review
FBI drama was excellent on Wednesday night. Most of my favorite episodes of
Criminal Minds feature Dr. Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) and the latest episode, Elephant’s Memory was no exception. High school can be cruel for some, and the character Owen brought back a few memories I have of kids who were picked on in school.
Reid’s issue with drug addiction, and his past came up. Some measure a person’s emotional makeup by their intelligence level, and I think in Reid’s case, he is a clear reminder that many of us are who we are because of things that happened to us in our past.
I didn’t understand why Rossi questioned Reid when he came back from his “meeting”, and found myself a little annoyed by it. It made me wonder if the team members know all of each other’s secrets.
The length to which Owen went in order to convince the authorities that Jordan, the girl he loved, had died in the fire was stunning. I also found the insensitivity of the school administrator in regards to the secret video of Owen to be appalling of course. One thing he said which was correct is that cyber bullying is a hot issue.
Garcia’s hyped up personality via coffee was entertaining. Overall, this was a wonderful episode. Each team member had their great moments. From Morgan’s commentary and hacking of Owen’s computer, Rossi’s brilliant deductions, Reid’s well-timed outrages, and J.J.’s connection with the young girl’s friend, it all fit together well.
The ending was perfect. My only question is this: Do you think Reid got off too easy with Agent Hotchner for going with his gut, thereby putting the team in danger?
