Top 7 FBI Movies - "Hannibal"
Today’s pick and No. 6 is Hannibal. Watch the Hannibal trailer here, and read my take after the jump.
Ridley Scott directed this amazing sequel to 1991’s Silence Of The Lambs. The story takes place ten years after the events of the first movie. Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) is as as sick as ever, but in this film, it seems he needs help from the FBI (or Agent Starling), as one of his victims wants revenge.
Julianne Moore, who portrays FBI Agent Clarice Starling has a corrupt FBI agent on her hands in Ray Liotta’s character Paul Krendler. Other Hannibal stars include Gary Oldman, Frankie Faison, and Giancarlo Giannini.
The film is based on the novel of the same name, and is written by Thomas Harris. One compelling aspect of this film is the relationship between Lecter and Agent Starling. Based on his actions, his feelings seem to border on some sort affection for her, although it’s hard to put a finger on the reason why specifically. Hannibal not only offers some big star power, but a story of a man with a strange sense of conscious.
