Actor Spotlight: "Without A Trace’s" Enrique Murciano
Whether you first loved him in Traffic or Black Hawk Down, Enrique Murciano
has certainly made an impression. He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy and a Screen Actors Guild Award in 2004 and 2005, and since then has been a member of New York’s Missing Persons Bureau, as FBI Special Agent Danny Taylor on Without A Trace.
Here’s my favorite 2008 video interview of Enrique on the Megan Mullally show, and one reason you would definitely think about becoming a talk show host (you’ll see).
In this segment, he describes himself as the “Cuban Martha Stewart”, as his sense of humor shines here. He also has two adorable dogs. He reveals his favorite TV show as a kid, his high school antics, talks about his father, and his knack for wanting to save people when he was younger. He tells a story that ends with him and Megan on the couch, and a kiss.
Murciano hails from Florida, is of Cuban descent, and has a love of cars according to his IMDB profile. He and Nestor Carbonell did a video interview with Spike TV about their roles in the film they did together, called The Lost City (2005). The film tells the story of three brothers during the Cuban 1958-59 Revolution. Murciano is very passionate about the film, and about the plight of human rights violations in Cuba.
Here’s a fun 2006 video of Enrique with Without A Trace co-star Eric Close as they are being interviewed/featured by Kathie Lee on The Insider. I love this video because it shows the guy’s lighter sides. As we anticipate the next season of Without A Trace, I would love to see some of this same energy in the form of more storylines featuring Murciano’s character.

Tv is full of handsome actors, few are handsome but gifted, talented, as weel, and…as underused as Murciano is in Wat. It is such a shame : his character has lots of hard stories from his past that Murciano could express with his ability. He is really very very gifted : I wonder how Roselyn could have won an Award instead of Murciano…I saw him in The Lost City…he is really clever and deserved a lot more screen time and…an Award!
