Video: "Flashpoint" Crime Drama - The Second Look
Flashpoint is coming to CBS this summer, bringing us, among other things, tense hostage negotiation scenes, and Canadian police antics. Check out the trailer and details below:
More extensive trailers from CBS’s new crime drama Flashpoint have been cropping up, and why you may say? It’s because unlike our favorite FBI dramas, and other new fall shows, this one debuts this summer, on Friday, July 11 at 10:00 PM on CBS.
If you love the tense hostage scenes as I do, and admit to watching Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey in “The Negotiator” too many times, give them a rest for now.
Flashpoint Series Background
When we last looked at Flashpoint, I wondered how well this series, originally created for a Canadian audience, would translate for American viewers. Even more interesting was that this seemed to be one of the results of the WGA Strike. After seeing the trailer, all I can say is that it looks great so far.
There’s a lot of potential for intense story lines, and the fact that the series begins this summer will keep it from being lost in the fall shuffle.
Flashpoint Debut - Scorpio
The very first episode, titled Scorpio, begins with a tense hostage situation, when a man takes a woman hostage outside of an office building. The SRU (Strategic Response Unit) must respond to save her, and make sure no innocents are hurt along the way. It’s directed by David Frazee, and the show is written by Mark Ellis and Stephanie Morganstern. For more info on the series, check out the links below:
