The B5Media network:

Poppy Montgomery Is Talking Motherhood …and Jack Malone

Poppy Montgomery and Adam Kaufman. The 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM) held at MGM Grand Garden Arena In a recent interview, Without A Trace star Poppy Montgomery reveals that there may be a bit of a resolution in the works between her character Sam Spade, and Jack Malone (Anthony LaPaglia) in the series.

The relationship between these two has always been in the background, so this is exciting news. The main part of Poppy’s interview is all about her new forays into real-life motherhood with baby son Jackson, born on December 23, the first “Trace” baby on the set.

Poppy indicates that motherhood does offer some challenges, as she revealed, “I didn’t realize how hard it would be to leave him, even for a minute”.

Some of the other points covered were the following:

  • How it was to film scenes with Adam Kaufman (Brian), the real life father of baby Jackson
  • How parenthood has changed their relationship
  • On whether she and Kaufman plan to marry

Between the history of Sam’s interests in Jack, then Martin, and then Jack, I suspect we’re all ready for some resolution in the relationship. You can read the rest of the TV Guide interview here.

I’d much rather the producers explored the potential for a romance between Samantha and Bryan. He’s a mysterious, intriguing character and their scenes together were full of chemistry. And Adam Kaufmann’s gourgeous! I like Anthony La Paglia, but the supposed attraction between Sam and Jack just seems too forced after all this time. Also, the obvious age gap gets up my nose.
