Numb3rs: Sophina Brown’s New Digs
Actor Sophina Brown has made a splash as the fearless Agent Nikki Betancourt on Numb3rs. Check out this video interview she did in which she talks about her new job…Numb3rs:
In the season opener, called Decoy Effect, she debuts as the “new guy”, and spends time between tagging along with Agents Granger and Sinclair, trading barbs, and working the case with Don Eppes (Rob Morrow).
She’s eager, and ready for action. In Decoy Effect, she volunteers to be a decoy to catch some ATM kidnappers, and does a great job as bait. During the snatch, something goes awry, and when the ball is in her court, she runs with it instead of using the “distress call”, angering her boss. Before the end of the episode, she is punished and sent to do “phone duty”…for now.
It’s going to be interesting seeing her get back into Don’s good graces, and out of “new guy” status.
Before Numb3rs, she was a cast regular on CBS’s Shark, and had various guest TV roles in other crime drama shows (Numb3rs, Without A Trace, Law and Order, Law and Order: SVU). She also has theatre credits that include Fame: The Musical, Broadway’s The Lion King, and some regional productions that include Jesus Christ Superstar. Sophina also starred in the feature film, Because I Said So, with Diane Keaton, and Mandy Moore.
