Rob Morrow Going "Barely Legal" With Hillary Duff
Numb3rs star Rob Morrow is serving as executive producer for a new series, called Barely Legal, and singer/actress Hillary Duff has been tapped as a young lawyer on this legal sitcom. The show centers around Duff’s character, and is based on the real story of an 18 year-old woman, Kathleen Holtz, who recently passed the California Bar, becoming the youngest lawyer in the state. Duff has gone from actress to singer, to business mogul and now will have her own show, portraying this super smart young lawyer.
According to THR, the project was developed through Bits and Pieces Productions, a company owned by Morrow. Elisa Bell (Little Black Book) is the writer for the project. This is not Morrow’s first production role (Maze), and he has also directed some episodes of other TV series which include Numb3rs, Joan of Arcadia, and Oz.
This is an NBC project and Duff is best known for her role in Disney’s Lizzie McGuire. It’s interesting that she is making a move back towards TV acting, as she’s been in several major films (War, Inc., Material Girls, Cheaper By The Dozen 2, The Perfect Man). It’s also been noted that she is ranked #72 on Forbes List of Power Players.
