Described as a gripping network crime series, NBC’s and ER creator John Well’s Southland has burst onto the scene, with a story of a tough and experienced Los Angeles cop assigned to train a young rookie. Check out the short trailer for the series below:

The story is set on the backdrop of Los Angeles, and takes a look at not just the cops, but the victims, their families, and the criminals. Southland airs on Thursdays at 10:00 PM ET on NBC.

In this week’s episode of The Beast, Barker (Patrick Swayze) goes undercover in his old cover, Apache, to infiltrate a group of Latin drug dealers who are involved in the disappearance of a fellow agent. Numb3rs’ Trouble In Chinatown features the case of a missing FBI undercover agent, and a feud between rival Chinese gangs who deal in the black market. Psychic Samuel Kraft (John Glover) has returned and is working to help solve the case as well. Check out the short preview of the episode and review below:

The unspoken rivalry between Kraft and Don was a nice backdrop for the rest of the plot.

After watching Patrick Swayze and Travis Fimmel on A&E’s new FBI drama series, The Beast, I left feeling a little beat down, only because there are many elements present in the story that we’ve seen in other crime drama series. The problem with the Armenian money train never seems to end.

Vic and Shane (Walton Goggins) catch up in the form of Vic (Michael Chiklis) kicking Shane all to hell as Shane had Vic’s family “kidnapped” supposedly to protect them from someone much worse. Some have reported an average premiere as far as viewership, but I think those of us who caught this dark horse were rather lucky on Tuesday night.

Fox’s Fringe at Comic-Con 2008 has caused a lot of excitement with it’s sneak peek of the first episode. Fans are infused with the idea of this new series, and the J.J. Abrams project is definitely making an impression. A scene snippet which features Anna Torv and Joshua Jackson are in this video.
