On the same weekend that the Ron Howard and Dan Brown film Angel and Demons debuts, Numb3rs’ exciting season finale, called Angels and Devils airs! In this exciting season 5 finale episode, Amita (Navi Rawat) is kidnapped, and Charlie (David Krumholtz) puts aside his feelings to help find her. It seems that in the eyes of the Eppes brothers, there’s no such thing as being too close to a case. Check out the the short video preview above and catch up on the review of the Season finale.

Numb3rs creators pulled out all the stops on this one. James Callis of Battlestar Galactica fame (Dr. Gaius Baltar) stars as a sociopath named Mason Duryea, the prime suspect in this case. Sarah Drew of CW’s Everwood fame stars as Piper, a devoted follower of Duryea. (Remember she portrayed that shy young thing named Hannah Rogers in Everwood?) Lou Diamond Philips returns as Agent Ian Edgerton.

I’ve decided that British actor James Callis is a master of voices. He passes as Southerner quite nicely (Ok maybe not a Southerner from Georgia but he does well all the same. Maybe a Missouri southerner?).

Agent Edgerton does that thing again in which he manages to appear out of nowhere, and rather quietly. Guess that’s a good skill to have if you are master sniper. I’m ready to call him ninja at this point.

Duryea is a genius cult-figure, charismatic in the all the right ways to runaways and wayward girls. Those who are held by his sway become a part of his girl gang…called The Tribe, and for them, kidnapping Amita was no coincidence.

While under duress, Amita finds a unique way to contact Charlie and the team (the only way a genius girl math nerd could…). Overall, the episode was awesome, but it felt a little understated for a season finale(?)

In the end, Nikki and Edgerton end up going out after work, and Alan does a great job of summing up the season. Don mentions some spiritual elements he experienced, and Charlie ends up asking someone a very important question. By the way, if you missed this season finale, you can check it out online for free over at CBS video.

Post from: FBI Dramas

FBI Drama Star Birthdays: Close And Krumholtz

David Krumholtz

Eric Close

FBI Drama Programs

FBI Drama Stars

Numb3rs

Without A Trace

The latest birthdays of our favorite FBI drama stars include Numb3rs star David Krumholtz (May 15), and Without A Trace star, Eric Close for May 24. From a questionable shooting incident in Season 2, to an office romance, an estranged relationship with his dad, and a painkiller addiction in Season 4, Fitzgerald seems to have done it all.

Happy Birthday, guys!

Images via Newscom

Post from: FBI Dramas

The Latest "Numb3rs" Buzz

David Krumholtz

FBI Drama Programs

FBI Drama Stars

Numb3rs

Rob Morrow

Show News

Disturbed

Ken Sanzel

Numb3rs 100th episode

So did you see the 100th episode of Numb3rs last night, ever notice any religion in Numb3rs, or ever find Charlie Eppes’ special graphics that pop up when he starts talking slightly annoying? This is some of the latest buzz about the show around town.

Charlie’s Graphics Are a Budget Killer

Ellen over at Philly.com says the graphics that pop up whenever Charlie Eppes (David Krumholtz) begins to explain a concept about a case is probably adding to the budget. I wondered that same thing, and overall I sometimes find the “presentations” a little distracting. That is really a good catch though. Just in case some bigwig decides to try to mess with one of our favorite FBI dramas, we’ve got at least two votes on mowing down Charlie’s graphics.

Numb3rs Has Religion?

It’s been noted at Variety that some slight religious topics have snuck into this season’s Numb3rs. Ken Sanzel, the executive producer of the show says that CBS was more open this time around to letting the showrunners “experiment” with Don (Rob Morrow…pictured above), and he cites some examples.

One of my favorite examples is from the last season, when Don is left feeling a bit uneasy after he realizes the FBI will not punish him for breaking the rules in getting the job done. Some of the others include Don going to a temple, and when he has to take a prisoner to a synagogue. I think allowing Don to touch on his faith adds more layers to the show, and am thankful that there’s a healthy balance.

Numb3rs 100th Episode – Disturbed

The biggest buzz is the “100th Episode” (Disturbed) aired last night, and was it a treat because it had a lot of goodies that serious fans of the show could appreciate (some of Charlie’s math theorems from when he first began helping to solve cases). Not only that, Charlie had to stop worrying about almost getting his brother killed from last week, and focus all of his skills on finding a serial killer who blends in much too well.

Image via Newscom

Post from: FBI Dramas

Numb3rs: Charlie, Your Math Is Flawed ("The Fifth Man")

David Krumholtz

Episode Resources

FBI Drama Programs

FBI Drama Stars

Numb3rs

Rob Morrow

Spoilers

Video Clips

flashpoint

The Fifth Man

A raid goes wrong, and a member of the team goes down… Check out this short video promo for a special broadcast of Numb3rs – which kicks off 4 new episodes that lead up to the 100th episode. What your math teacher told you was true. We were left to wonder if he was going to resign after his sobering conversation with Don Eppes (Rob Morrow) in a recent episode.

Finally, it’s also been revealed that Charlie and Amita’s (Navi Rawat) relationship will be moving forward a bit, and perhaps that’s a good thing now that Charlie is no longer stressed about getting his clearance back.

Don’t forget to check out the next episode, which airs tomorrow night, Friday, November 14 at 10:00 PM on CBS.

Image: Newscom

Post from: FBI Dramas

Numb3rs’ Krumholtz Being Bastardly?

David Krumholtz

FBI Drama Stars

brad pitt

inglorious bastards

quentin tarantino

Numb3rs star David Krumholtz has been in talks for a possible role in Quentin Tarantino’s WWII drama called Inglorious Bastards. Sumika has portrayed the recurring character, Special Agent Liz Warner, and love interest to Don Eppes (Rob Morrow). It should be interesting to have her along with the firebrand that is Sophina Brown’s new character.

Eric Close Talks Technology

Without A Trace star Eric Close recently co-led an educational training session at a national computing conference on how technology can excite children about education. He and author/educator Peter Reynolds led this interactive investigation to feature Thinkfinity.org, which is an online portal for teachers, students and parents, full of educational resources. Nice to know that Close is so much a part of education, and it’s no wonder since he has two little girls to help educate himself.

The Fall TV Popularity Contest

Been wondering what fall shows will be the highest-rated this time around? New series, Fox’s Fringe and CBS’s Eleventh Hour are the ticket, according to Horizon Media, a company that publishes estimates of how well broadcast shows will perform. Although I haven’t seen this annual report, I wonder what they base their findings on – series concept, or marketing dollars?
