The list of Top 20 shows in Prime Time Nielsen ratings for the week of March 30 is peppered with crime drama series. Just a quick update here that the Emmy winning Law & Order: SVU star, Mariska Hargitay, is back in the hospital (as of Wednesday morning) after feeling ill from having a partially collapsed lung. Hargitay, who portrays Det. Olivia Benson on the series, had a short stay in the hospital a few months ago for the same ailment.
THR reports her spokesman says she’ll be “feeling better soon”, and the production schedule of the series will not be affected.
Hargitay’s rep told U.S. Magazine this is actually the third time she’s been hospitalized for a partially collapsed lung since December. Her …read more

Without A Trace, Criminal Minds, and Numb3rs, move over! CBS has just made way for two new crime dramas. One is an FBI drama created by Criminal Minds’ creator Ed Bernero, and the other? It’s a spin-off of the crime procedural, NCIS. Read more about the CBS crime drama newbies.
Washington Field comes from Ed Bernero, producer and creator of Criminal Minds. The series, done with the FBI’s stamp of approval, is named after the FBI’s Washington field office.

Mel Gibson is stepping back into the role of actor. He will star in a crime drama thriller called Edge of Darkness.
