The list of Top 20 shows in Prime Time Nielsen ratings for the week of March 30 is peppered with crime drama series. If you’ve ever wondered what the rest of us are watching, read Nielsen’s complete list here.  Pictured above are A.J. Cook and Shemar Moore of CBS’s Criminal Minds. Although their show didn’t make the list for last week, there are many times a “Minds” rerun will “top” the new programming in my house.

Lifetime Movie Network will be featuring Numb3rs’ star Rob Morrow in a 2007 movie called Custody, which airs on Saturday, September 9, at 9:00 PM. 24 Gets Super Villain Jon Voight
As a fan of Fox’s TV series 24, I’m ecstatic that Jon Voight has been tapped for the upcoming seventh season which begins with a 2 hour Season 7 Prequel on November 23.
The prequel is now being filmed in South Africa, and as was noted, 24 has not seen this type of excitement since Dennis Hopper appeared in Season 1 as a Serbian nationalist.

Will CBS’s new Fall series, The Mentalist, be the answer to USA Network’s popular series, Psych? The Mentalist stars Simon Baker (The Devil Wears Prada, The Guardian) as Patrick Jane, a consultant to the CBI (California Bureau of Investigation) with a serious knack for solving crimes, using super observation skills.

First there was the BAU, and now we have the SRU! CBS’s new police drama, called Flashpoint (a working title for now) follows a group of highly skilled police officers, trained in negotiation, profiling and diffusing situations to save lives.

FBI Drama star Roselyn Sanchez has been nominated as an artist for the 5th Annual “Premios Juventud” (Youth Awards). The Premios Juventud honors all the biggest names in Latin show business, sports and fashion!
The nominees are chosen by Hispanics who vote online via Univison.com. It sounds like an amazing show, as all aspects of the entertainment industry are represented, notably film, music, and sports.
Roselyn is nominated for her role in the big screen film, The Game Plan, in which she portrays the dance teacher to The Rock’s character’s daughter. This is an excellent family, sports and “Rock” movie, …read more

I thought it was a master move by the powers that be at Criminal Minds to rebroadcast the 3rd Life episode, since its events were key to Dr. Reid’s performance in last week’s episode. I watched it again of course, and I still feel haunted when I see young girls who seem to be alone at the movie theatre. Joe Mantegna’s real life daughter, Gina Mantegna, does an exceptional job as Lindsey, one of the missing girls.

You might have heard that some crime drama stars are turning in their badges with their respective crime shows.
Gary Dourdan is leaving CSI, and his departure date is the end of the season.  Diane Neal has given her notice at Law & Order: SVU after 5 years. He role has been that of A.D.A. Casey Novak.
These are both talented actors, and I suspect they have bigger and better roles awaiting them. I was particularly saddened to learn about Dourdan’s departure, as his character, Warrick Brown, has always been a highlight of the series for me. According to IMDB, …read more

There’s no getting around it, CBS took a huge lead for Thursday night’s ratings, and it was due to some amazing crime drama.
CBS cleaned the clocks of the networks last night for all three hours of primetime. New episodes of CSI and Without A Trace led the way.
On CSI, Grissom and his crew work a case even though they all had the flu, and investigate the deaths of high-profile witnesses. On Without A Trace, the unthinkable happens as Agent Malone becomes one of the missing.
