LaPaglia reveals all sorts of stuff, including his impressive set of tattoos!

Although known for film roles such as Det. Lou Petrocelli in Summer of Sam, Joe Reaves in Empire Records, and Simon Moon on TV’s Frasier, he’s best known as the hard-nosed Special Agent in Charge of the Missing Person’s Unit on Without A Trace, Agent Jack Malone.

LaPaglia talks about how much he loves portraying comedic roles despite the huge success of the show. He does his best impression of his sweet daughter, and reveals a bit of what it was like for him in the early days of acting and just starting out. He’s a very charming and funny guy, and it’s no wonder his wife is so supportive (she trades a few barbs herself with Lipton from the audience…).

Another bit he reveals is about his decision to accept his role on Without A Trace years ago, and he talks about the series, which is now in its seventh season, and renewed for season 8.

Without A Traces character Martin Fitzgerald is getting an on-screen love interest. That lucky lady is actor Vanessa Marcil (General Hospital, Las Vegas). According to TV Guide, her character develops a deep love for Martin, but they must overcome a secret she’s been hiding. I wonder what it could be. Criminal Minds‘ writer Mark Bruner is featured in a Vienna Connection article about his work and first produced script, the latest episode called Bloodline. The episode is about a family of serial killers that live in a small Alabama town. Bruner describes himself as “…just your average nerdy kid”. The story of how he became a writer for the show is quite inspiring for those who have ever wanted to write for television, or just be a part of a cool FBI drama.

The Beast megastar Patrick Swayze has decided to write his memoirs for posterity. He’s been fighting pancreatic cancer, and starring in his new FBI drama series on A&E. His wife Lisa is also going to collaborate on his book. Although it hasn’t yet been picked up by a publisher, the book is sure to be a success.

CSI: Miami’s star Rory Cochran will be taking a bite out of 24 later in the season. He’ll portray a henchman of Jon Voight’s evil character on the show.

There’s confirmation that The Mentalist’s characters Jane (Simon Baker) and Lisbon (Robin Tunney) will not develop a love relationship anytime soon, and for now, their most wanted and evil suspect Red John will continue to be on the lam, according to the show creator, Bruno Heller.

Without A Trace star Anthony LaPaglia and his daughter Bridget took in a bit of Christmas shopping recently.

Enrique Murciano was also spotted at the Conga Room Grand Opening Celebration at Nokia LA Live in Los Angeles this month.

Marianne Jean-Baptist looked stunning when she attended the Los Angeles premiere for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button this month.

It does seem the focus has been on Malone (Anthony LaPaglia). Alternately, some fans agree they’ve been waiting on the resolve in Sam (Poppy Montgomery) and Jack’s relationship for some time, and they welcome the story arc.

I recall in Season 6 when Vivian (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) was put in charge of the task force, and in one episode, she was even placed in charge when Jack went missing. Those two (and the CSI cross-over episode with Gil Grissom) episodes are some of my favorites, because they focus more on the rest of the team.

This post does have a happy ending, and if you’ve seen the latest episode, Rise And Fall, you know exactly what I mean.

I was quite happy with these answers by the way. So, on Fringe, are Peter and Olivia destined for romance? On Without a Trace, did Danny stab Jack in the back with his testimony last season?

Since the beginning of Fringe, fans had wondered about the possibility of a love romance between Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) and Agent Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv). Word is that for now, there’s no go on the romance. If you’ve been watching you know that Olivia’s boyfriend John died, and is now haunting her. Peter is still responsible for his dad, and recently received a special FBI consultant’s title, so these two are too busy to notice each other in that way. It was also noted that Olivia is going to travel overseas in an upcoming episode.

In Without a Trace last season, Agent Danny Taylor (Enrique Murciano) gave some critical info to investigators when they were looking into Agent Jack Malone’s (Anthony LaPaglia) fitness to lead the team. Of course, we never saw what Danny said, but we did see that Jack was demoted. Word is we’ll find out exactly what happened, and whether Danny’s testimony either crucified Jack, or if it supported him.

In this pilot episode, the murders of a pro golfer’s wife and her doctor are investigated. The show seems to focus on finding the truth in human nature.

Without A Trace Season 7 opener episode premieres at 10:00 PM on CBS. In the new episode, entitled, Closure, Agent Jack Malone (Anthony LaPaglia) is adjusting to his new boss, Clark Medina (Steven Weber), and the team investigates the disappearance of a man whose daughter disappeared years earlier.

The great taglines in this feature say that “life will change”, “power will shift”, and “people will go missing”. Agent Jack Malone has told Agent Spade that she “wont have to do it alone anymore” as they both admire her new baby. Fans have been wondering if the fleeting relationship between these two will finally be resolved.

It’s also unknown what the demotion is going to do to Jack, and how it will affect the rest of the team.

With a new team leader comes new vibes, and the team gets more involved with support groups and families. Perhaps we’ll see some even nastier cases and bad guys.

I read that Steven Weber is joining Without a Trace. Does that mean Anthony LaPaglia is gone? — Janice
Mickey: Weber has only signed on for four episodes, so he’s definitely not replacing LaPaglia. Rather, their characters will be adversaries. Once he’s done ruining Jack’s life, look for Weber to resurface on Brothers & Sisters, where he spent time last season ruining Sarah’s life. (Note to self: Do not invite Steven Weber over for dinner.)

So based on this news, fans can rest easy. After all, I think the team and the show would just not be the same if LaPaglia decided to pull a “Gideon” (al la Mandy Patinkin’s departure from Criminal Minds).

The adversarial relationship between these two should prove quite interesting, especially in light of Agent Malone’s troubles over the years. From the guilt he’s felt on and off over his mother’s suicide, to his bout with depression, and later the divorce from his wife, Jack has been through a good bit of adversity. I suspect that he will be more than strong enough to withstand Weber’s character parrys.

Fox’s Fringe May Be Headed To NY

An expansion of new tax breaks put in place last month by Governor David Paterson are in effect, and extended, from 2011 to 2013. What this means for New Yorkers is more production projects heading your way. Other shows, such as Ugly Betty have already made the jump.

As you probably know, Gary Dourdan is leaving CSI due to a now very public personal drama for Dourdan involving drug use. Kudos to CBS bosses for trying to keep things on the down low for Gary. Numb3rs is saying sayonara to Diane Farr, who portrays Megan Reeves, as she’s expecting!

There has even been some speculation about Anthony LaPaglia on Without A Trace, as his character Agent Malone had a psych eval because he almost died and bungled a case. What this means for the long run is anyone’s guess, but I’d rather not think about him leaving the show.
