FBI Dramas

Fox has announced its 2009-2010 midseason line-up and, and it includes 2 new unique crime related action dramas.

One series stars Fringe’s Mark Valley as an unusual private contractor who works to keep his clients alive.
The other series (Past Life) pairs an NYPD detective and a gifted psychologist (Kelli Giddish, seen here) who work to solve crimes that must be solved in the present and past(?). Are we talking time travel here, or past lives?

More On Leonard Nimoy’s Role
In the latest Fringe news, a bit more has been revealed about Leonard Nimoy’s role on the series. We already know he’s to portray the mysterious former scientist William Bell in the finale. We knew Nimoy is be in more than one episode.  At the April 23 Paley Festival panel interview, J.J. Abrams revealed Anna Torv is the only person that will share a scene with him on the May 12 finale, and it was reiterated that Nimoy will be back for future episodes. Yay! The countdown to the end of Fringe’s first season has already begun, and IGN is taking a good look at the mysterious corporation, Massive Dynamic. If you’ve been wondering if the company is good, or bad, it may still prove to be an unknown, although much of the weird case events of “the pattern” that happen do seem to lead back to this happy giant.

Just the idea of a halfway house for troubled cops sounds a little scary. It could also present a few hilarious scenarios. At least, this is what Fox’s Brett Ratner (Prison Break, Women’s Murder Club) is betting on, as he is directing a new Fox comedy pilot called Cop House.
Scott Caan (Oceans 11, 12, and 13, Gone In Sixty Seconds) is tapped to play the lead, a champion marksman who suffers a nervous breakdown after his wife leaves him for his sister.

In tonight’s new episode of 24, (Day 7 10:00 PM -11:00PM), Jack and Tony search for a bioweapon at a shipyard. The President must make changes in her administration to accommodate her daughter’s ambitions. All the while, the FBI has notched up its search for Jack, who is still wanted for the death of Senator Mayer.

Fringe star Joshua Jackson says he was recently injured while filming a scene for the Fox TV show.

Word is he had a wire put inside his nose, and it caused some pain and bleeding despite the precautions taken. I love it when actors go the extra mile for the fans, but I was very concerned to hear this. If you watch Fringe, you’ve seen some pretty strange experiments (horrible things). So when I heard this, my first reaction was,  “Oh say it aint so…”.

Fox’s weird science FBI drama, Fringe, is on the uptake, and has a good chance at a new season, according to Fox’s Entertainment president, Kevin Reilly in an article at Sci-Fi Wire. Read more here about why the series is coming back, and check out this short snippet of the theme song from the show, which was written by the show’s creator, J.J. Abrams. At TV Week, he explains he came up with this beautiful song while getting ready for bed one night. Evidently, penning theme songs is an Abrams “pattern”.
