Fox’s Fringe May Be Headed To NY

An expansion of new tax breaks put in place last month by Governor David Paterson are in effect, and extended, from 2011 to 2013. What this means for New Yorkers is more production projects heading your way. Other shows, such as Ugly Betty have already made the jump.

As you probably know, Gary Dourdan is leaving CSI due to a now very public personal drama for Dourdan involving drug use. Kudos to CBS bosses for trying to keep things on the down low for Gary. Numb3rs is saying sayonara to Diane Farr, who portrays Megan Reeves, as she’s expecting!

There has even been some speculation about Anthony LaPaglia on Without A Trace, as his character Agent Malone had a psych eval because he almost died and bungled a case. What this means for the long run is anyone’s guess, but I’d rather not think about him leaving the show.

J.J. Abram’s new little package of Fringe is headed our way as Fox is setting us up again!  Fringe is the new FBI drama with the sci-fi twist, which stars Joshua Jackson, Charlotte Rampling, Kirk Acevedo and Lance Reddick.

When I say set-up, I mean it in a totally good way. Fox has been checking its list of entertainment, and they plan on giving us an eyeful. Have you noticed the mid season launches? Not only is it not a problem for viewers, but a welcome sight for those of us who just frankly walk to a different beat when it comes to TV viewing.

After all, a successful series such as Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was launched mid season. Waiting for something to start up in the Fall is passe.

So, what I’m looking forward to the most in Fringe is probably seeing Joshua Jackson. I think Joshua may have gotten gypped in Shutter, and I want him to get his due, as he is a great actor, and his return to a recurring role on the small screen is a welcome sight.
