In the latest Fringe news, a bit more has been revealed about Leonard Nimoy’s role on the series. We already know he’s to portray the mysterious former scientist William Bell in the finale. We knew Nimoy is be in more than one episode.  At the April 23 Paley Festival panel interview, J.J. Abrams revealed Anna Torv is the only person that will share a scene with him on the May 12 finale, and it was reiterated that Nimoy will be back for future episodes. Yay! Congratulations to Fringe stars Anna Torv and Mark Valley on their nuptials! Yes, I was completely surprised that these two were able to secretly tie the knot over the holidays.
 
I’m impressed with how well they were able to keep this wedding on the down low, but then again, being part of a J.J. Abrams project is probably the best training you can get for doing covert operations. Fringe Fans: "Anticipate" Second Season Says Reilly

Fox’s weird science FBI drama, Fringe, is on the uptake, and has a good chance at a new season, according to Fox’s Entertainment president, Kevin Reilly in an article at Sci-Fi Wire. J.J. Abrams Tackling "Fringe" Scuttlebutt

Showrunner J.J. Abrams has shared some Fringe good news recently. Some critics have wondered from the beginning if it was Fox’s intention to create a new “X-Files” via Fringe. After all, FBI agents plus weird science usually reminds us of a few things!
Abrams says the plan was more to create something fans would really like to see. Executive producer Robert Orci revealed that although The X-Files series was an inspiration, he has “always wanted to do a show with geniuses solving problems“.
